Georgia Beatrice Kasten, 103, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Aug. 9, 1909, in Fruitland, the daughter of Orda and Nora Myrtle Snider Burns. She and Louis A. Kasten were married Dec. 16, 1928. He preceded her in death June 30, 1985...

Georgia Beatrice Kasten, 103, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Aug. 9, 1909, in Fruitland, the daughter of Orda and Nora Myrtle Snider Burns.

She and Louis A. Kasten were married Dec. 16, 1928. He preceded her in death June 30, 1985.

Georgia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She and Louis owned and operated Kasten Grocer and Meat Market in Jackson from 1929 until 1952.

Loving survivors include three granddaughters, Beverly (Larry) Byrd and son Dylan of Cordova, Tenn., Mary Lowry and daughters Amanda, Lynsey and Rachel of Jackson and Alicia (Tony) Jaco and sons Tyler Trierweiler and Matthew Jaco of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Robert "Bob" Strack; three brothers; and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.

Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson or Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
