George W. Smith Sr., 76, 1105 Linden, died Sunday, March 26, 1995, at his home.
He was born June 4, 1918, in Tucker, Ark., son of Charlie and Carrie Lindsey Smith. He married Ophelia Moses, who died in 1981.
Smith was a farmer, and member of the Masonic Lodge in Portageville.
Survivors include a son, George Smith of Bellwood, Ill.; three daughters, Mildred Coleman of Indianapolis, Ind., Mae Stokes of Milwaukee, Wis., Eva Smith of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mildred Smith of Altheimer, Ark., and 34 grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel after noon Friday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
