George "Bud" Ventres of Dallas, Texas, and Naomi Akers of Houma, La., a brother and sister formerly of the Cape Girardeau area, died last week.

Ventres, 61, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, in Dallas.

Akers, 65, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 1996, in Houma.

Their parents are George and Myrtle Jackson Ventres.

Both are survived by a brother, Vince Ventres of Hollywood, Calif.; two sisters, Ginny Baker of Hollywood, Calif., and Bernetha McCann of Springfield.

Ventres is also survived by a son, Steve Ventres of Trenton, N.J.

Akers is also survived by two sons, Rich Schreiner of California, Jessie Eakers of Dallas; three daughters, Debbie of Louisiana, Gale of Oklahoma, and Gwen of Arizona.

A memorial service will be held later.
