McDowell, 76, formerly of Perryville, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services.

He was born May 23, 1923, in Perryville. He and Mary O. Norman were married March 16, 1986, in Jefferson City.

McDowell had been a chef at St. John's Mercy Hospital.

Survivors include his wife; and a brother, Gene McDowell of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
