ADVANCE -- George E. Leazenby, 83, of Advance died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 30, 1914, near Advance, son of Jesse and Margaret "Maggie" Uphoff Leazenby. He first married Adeline Montgomery Nov. 1, 1941. She died in February 1990. He later married Lois Adkins Johnson July 14, 1990, at Delta.
Leazenby was retired from Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Mich. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Advance. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karlyn Probst of Virginia Beach, Va.; a stepdaughter, Wanda Stehlin of Advance; a sister, Caroline Graham of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Brice officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.
