A memorial service for George L. Train of Lindsborg, Kan., will be held at 11 a.m. today at Bethany Lutheran Church there. The Rev. Herbert N. Johnson Jr. will officiate, with private burial in Elmwood Cemetery at Lindsborg.

Anderson-Hays Funeral Home in Lindsborg is in charge of arrangements.

Train, 84, died Saturday, May 1, 1993, at Augusta Medical Complex Long Term Care Unit in Augusta, Kan.

He was born May 5, 1908, in Marion, Kan., son of James H. and Rose Ella Garrison Daniels. He was later adopted by Charles and Marie Johnson Train. He and Agnes Almquist were married Aug. 5, 1936, in Assaria, Kan.

Train was a retired farmer, served eight years on Lindsborg Rural School District Board and also served on the board of School District 9. He was a member of Bethany Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Carl Train of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Donna Ruple of Augusta; two foster brothers, Emory Train of Lindsborg, Kenneth Train of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
