SIKESTON, Mo. -- George Anthony Kappler, 64, of Sikeston died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Sikeston Convalescent Center. He was born Feb. 13, 1946, in San Diego to the late Albert and Isabelle Gosche Kappler. Kappler had worked at Malone & Hyde and Flemming Food Distribution Co. as a shipping clerk. SIKESTON, Mo. -- George Anthony Kappler, 64, of Sikeston died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

He was born Feb. 13, 1946, in San Diego to the late Albert and Isabelle Gosche Kappler.

Kappler had worked at Malone & Hyde and Flemming Food Distribution Co. as a shipping clerk. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 3151, and was an avid bowler.

He is survived by three brothers, Steven R. Kappler of Langley, British Columbia, Thomas M. Kappler of Long Beach, Calif., and James K. Kappler of Anderson, S.C.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink, pastor, officiating. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Columbarium in Bloomfield.
