CHAFFEE, Mo. -- George L. Felker, 79, of Chaffee died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 18, 1926, at Glenallen, Mo., son of Luther and Veda Burns Felker. He and Mildred Bollinger were married March 16, 1948...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- George L. Felker, 79, of Chaffee died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 18, 1926, at Glenallen, Mo., son of Luther and Veda Burns Felker. He and Mildred Bollinger were married March 16, 1948.

Mr. Felker had been an agriculture teacher with Advance, Bell City and Delta school districts, and was a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of Glenallen Methodist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert (Diana) Felker of Jackson, Charles (Charmayne) Felker of Farmington, N.M.; two daughters, Georgiana (Mark) Gerdes of Jackson, Barbara (Kenneth) Campbell of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Gerdes of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jonathan Gerdes of Jackson, Jessica Campbell and Allison Campbell of Cape Girardeau, Ashley Felker of Columbia, Mo., Curtis Felker and Shannon Felker of Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Gerdes, Megan Gerdes and Jacob Welker, all of Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann Henderson.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
