GEORGE E. SHELTON JR.

George E. Shelton Jr., 84, 325 S. Louisiana, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 13, 1910, in Warren County, son of George and Irene Thomas Shelton.

Shelton married Verna Hawkins May 10, 1931, in Jonesburg.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Shelton was a graduate of Rubicam Business School in St. Louis. He had worked at Kreice and Sons Construction Company. He was employed 49 years with R.B. Potashnick Company in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1984 as a vice president. He also was president of Mary Construction.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Beran of Chesterfield; two brothers, John Shelton of Moline, Ill., Edgar Shelton of Jonesburg; a sister, Opal Hart of Kansas City; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Gallamore officiating. Entombment will in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
