PERRYVILLE -- George Clements, 79, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 3, 1919, at Schumer Springs, son of Louis and Elizabeth Wirth Clements. He and Virginia Tarrillion were married Oct. 21, 1950.
Clements was a retired carpenter. He was a member and usher of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Booster Post 133, River Hill Eagles Lodge 4034, and a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1263.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Georgia "Cookie" Little of Cape Girardeau, Karen Kennedy and Sandy Gianino of St. Louis; three sons, David Clements of Perryville, Danny Clements of Cape Girardeau, Donnie Clements of Kansas City; four brothers, Edgar, Oscar, Wilbert and Kelly Clements of Perryville; two sisters, Catherine Besand of Perryville, Mae Probst of Sedgewickville; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-9:40 a.m. The parish wake is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
