NEW HAMBURG -- Funeral service for George C. Blattel of Ft. Collins, Colo., was held Dec. 9 at John 23rd University Center there. The Rev. Bob Amundson of- ficiated, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Ft. Collins was in charge of arrangements.
Blattel, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1992, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins.

He was born May 19, 1904, at New Hamburg, son of Albert J. and Mary Kern Blattel. He and Marcella M. Drury were married Nov. 16, 1930.
Blattel owned and operated a restaurant, gas station and roller rink in Scott City about 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Darlene Cochran of Ft. Collins, Marlene Shannon of Arvada, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
