SIKESTON -- Funeral service for George Ray Berry Sr. of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Maxey Schrieber and Wendy Downing-Birdwell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Berry, 66, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1929, near Anniston, son of Jess and Nellie Bell Hooker Berry. He and Anna M. Howell were married May 20, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.

Berry was a truck driver at Potlatch, and member of Teamsters Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Michael Sr., George Jr., Christopher and Brian Berry, all of Sikeston, Charles Berry of East Prairie; two daughters, Diane Cummins of Canalou, Sonja Berry of Charleston; two brothers, Chuck Berry of Perryville, Frank Berry of Morley; 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
