George N. Allemang, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at his home. He was born Feb. 4, 1916, at Grafton, Ill., son of Antony M. and Natalie Gainnie Allemang. George N. Allemang, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1916, at Grafton, Ill., son of Antony M. and Natalie Gainnie Allemang. He and Patricia Smith were married Sept. 30, 1938, at St. Louis.

He worked for Graybar Electric and owned and operated an appliance and furniture store.

In 1961, he developed and founded Mortuary Cosmetics Co. in St. Louis. The company relocated to Cape Girardeau when Allemang moved to the city in 1981. He continued running the business until November.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Peggy Riggs of Cape Girardeau and Libby Videniels of Rockville, Md.; a sister, Frances Montgomery of Winter Park, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service.
