George A. "Buddy" Cauble, 68, 2021 Sara, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, son of George and Alice Davis Cauble. He and Olene Williamson were married Aug. 26, 1944, in Brady, Texas.
Cauble was part owner of Cauble and Field 40 years, retiring in 1983. The family business was started by his parents in 1924. He served 42 years in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was a pilot during World War II.
Cauble helped organize the East Cape Fire Department, was a Cape Special Road District commissioner five years, and served seven years on SEMO District Fair Board. He attended Grace United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Elks, American Legion, and Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Becky Schlosser and Roselyn Conrad; a brother, Charles Cauble; a sister, Evelyn Boswell, all of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Ernest Swartz will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
