She was born Sept. 14, 1931, at Apple Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen A. and Ida J. Buchheit Wibbenmeyer. She married Joseph Lawrence Schwartz on June 17, 1950, at Apple Creek. KELSO, Mo. -- Genevieve Marie Schwartz, 85, of Kelso died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 14, 1931, at Apple Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen A. and Ida J. Buchheit Wibbenmeyer. She married Joseph Lawrence Schwartz on June 17, 1950, at Apple Creek. He preceded her in death May 19, 2010.

Genevieve was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and its St. Anne's Sodality.

She is survived by four sons, Charles (Becky) Schwartz, Michael (Susan) Schwartz and Richard Schwartz, all of Chaffee, Missouri, and Joseph (Yvonne) Schwartz of Scott City; a sister, Mary Christy of Festus, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Julie Scherer, Eric Schwartz, Suzanne Jackson, Stephen Schwartz, Stacy Beasley, Gregory Schwartz and Nicholas Schwartz; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hadley Jackson, Josie, Adelyn, Eleanor, Theodore, Zeke, Alex and Corbin Schwartz, Domenic, Faith and Lilyanna Scherer and Savannah Beasley.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Joe Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
