General Mason

ORAN, Mo. -- General Leon Mason, 78, of Oran passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Dover, Arkansas, to Mart and Hattie Anderson Mason. He and Shirley Wagoner were married Sept. 14, 1954.

General retired from Tri-Con Industries in Cape Girardeau as a quality-control inspector and also raised cattle. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oran.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; a son, Garry (Monica) Mason of Bloomfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan and Hana Jo Mason and Chris, Justin, Brandon, Matt and Tyler Davis; two brothers, Gary Mason of Dover and Carl Mason of Oran; two sisters, Mildred and Carol Mason of Iowa; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and three children, General Mason Jr., Bobby Leon Mason and Jeannie Davis.

Friends may call from noon until time of service Saturday at First Baptist Church in Oran.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery at Oran.
