Gene Roy Rastl, 75, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Monticello House in Jackson. He was born April 30, 1929, in Jackson, son of Roy and Azilee Overbeck Rastl. He and Jennie L. Gene Roy Rastl, 75, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Monticello House in Jackson.

He was born April 30, 1929, in Jackson, son of Roy and Azilee Overbeck Rastl. He and Jennie L. Abernathy were married Nov. 19, 1948.

Mr. Rastl had been a deckhand on the river, and worked for Glen Bishop Construction in Cape Girardeau and Seabaugh Construction in Jackson.

He was a member of Iona Baptist Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Excelsior Lodge 441 AF&AM, and had received his 50-year pin.

He served in Missouri Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie (Richard) Seyer of Jackson; a granddaughter, Crystal (Brent) Reid of Jackson; and two great-granddaughters, Amber and Autumn Reid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Goza Rastl.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home today from 9:30 a.m. to service time.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
