COBDEN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Donald E. "Gene" Jackson of Joliet will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Jackson, 64, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
He was born April 26, 1933, in Union County, son of Fred L. and Minnie Smoot Jackson. He and Alice Yates were married Aug. 23, 1952, in Cobden.
Jackson was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Joliet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cathy Kazak of Plainfield; three sisters, Lucille Stewart of Carbondale, Elva Stauffer of Bethalto, Louise Shelton of Granite City; three brothers, Clarence Jackson of St. Joseph, Mich., Fred Jackson of Tooele, Utah, Norman Jackson of Granite City; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
