BLOOMFIELD -- Gene Dooley, 67, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.

He was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Oxford, Miss., son of Leslie and Ruby Cohea Dooley. On June 3, 1955, he married Rosalie Hester, who died March 30, 1992. On March 24, 1995, he married Sue Hinkle.

He had owned and operated Gene's Furniture on the square in Bloomfield since July 1956 and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Pam Dooley of Burfordville, Gayla Ressel of Cape Girardeau and Jill Almond of Rolla; a stepdaughter, Janet Schrock of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Herman Dooley of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Chiles Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dallas Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery.
