Gaymarie Tomlinson, 62, of Winter Springs, Florida, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at Lake Mary, Florida, following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Sacramento, California, to Leon Frank and Odella Gay Tschiedel.
Gaymarie was raised in Orlando, Florida, and was trained as a dancer by eminent area dance instructor Edith Royal, and she later became a renowned dance instructor herself. She opened her first dance studio, Royale Ballet, in Cape Girardeau in 1984. She returned to the Orlando area in the mid-1990s to open Studio 5D in Winter Springs.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Wardlaw (Jay) of Atlanta; a son, Phil Tomlinson (Julie) of Cape Coral, Florida; a brother, Raymond Tschiedel of Winter Park, Florida; and five grandchildren, Patsy Wardlaw, Benjamin Tomlinson, Nathan Wardlaw, Holly Tomlinson and Katelin Tomlinson.
The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Baldwin-Fairchild Goldenrod Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL 32792. A reception will follow immediately after.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
