KELSO, Mo. -- Gary Louis "Coop" Welter Sr., 75, of Kelso died Sept. 20, 2015, at his home. He was born July 2, 1940, in Kelso to Joseph Michael and Theresa Heuring Welter. He married Janet Sue Harrell on April 27, 1963, in Chaffee, Missouri. He was the department manager at Drury Company. KELSO, Mo. -- Gary Louis "Coop" Welter Sr., 75, of Kelso died Sept. 20, 2015, at his home. He was born July 2, 1940, in Kelso to Joseph Michael and Theresa Heuring Welter. He married Janet Sue Harrell on April 27, 1963, in Chaffee, Missouri.

He was the department manager at Drury Company. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6420.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons. Gary Welter Jr. and his daughter, Gara, of Benton, Missouri, and Eric (Brenda) Welter and their children, Erica and Samantha, of Chaffee; three daughters, Cindy (Randy) Modglin and their sons, Ryan and Justin, Chryss (Mike) Rhymer and their children, Shelby, Brandon and Skylar and Amanda (Joe) Mosley and their daughter, Kaylyn, of Scott City; two brothers, Don (Cornetta) Welter of Columbia, Missouri, and Dale (Darlene) Welter of Creve Coeur, Illinois, and a sister, Sharon (Tom) Lappe of Biehle, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish Prayers will be at 6 p.m., immediately followed by Knights of Columbus service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
