FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Gary Wayne Wagner, 71, of Farmington, formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Marble Hill, son of Charles Milton and Reeda Ellen Back Wagner. He and Frances L. Underwood were married 50 years ago.
Gary was a practicing attorney for 38 years with the Colson, Wagner and MacKay Law Firm in Farmington. He was a former school teacher and an agent with Missouri Conservation Department.
He was a member of the American Bar Association, First Baptist Church, was active in many community organizations, and was Farmington city counselor more than 35 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Anthony (Marianne) Wagner; a daughter, Jane (Brian Garner) Wagner-Garner, all of Farmington; a sister, Norma (Mayford) Warren of Cape Gir-ardeau; two grandchildren, Jessica Lorainne (Joshua) Barton of Hilo, Hawaii, Garret Wagner-Garner of Farmington; a great-grandson, Caleb Burton; and mother-in-law, Thelma Underwood of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.C. Wagner.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Home in Farmington.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, with Dr. William C. Miller and the Rev. Jacob Pollard officiating.
Another visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Glenallen Cemetery at Glenallen.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care Inc. and/or the American Cancer Society.
