MCCLURE, Ill. -- Gary Sronce, 63, of McClure died Friday, May 11, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Jan. 13, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Cletus and Lurabell Hutchison Sronce. MCCLURE, Ill. -- Gary Sronce, 63, of McClure died Friday, May 11, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 13, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Cletus and Lurabell Hutchison Sronce.

Formerly of Clarksville, Tenn., he worked 24 years for the city of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department. He had also been a prison guard.

He served in the U.S. Army, and honors included service in Alaska during the 1964 earthquake.

Survivors include his mother of Niceville, Fla.; two sisters, Carol Skiles of McClure, Marilyn Rodenmeyer of Niceville; and a friend, JoAnn Baugher of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Lake View Chapel in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
