ORAN, Mo. — Gary Wayne Puckett, 62, of Oran died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in a vehicle accident at Van Buren, Mo.
He was born Aug. 30, 1945, at Vanduser, Mo., son of John Almon and Reba Velma Johnson Puckett. He and Mary Letisha Campbell were married June 2, 1968, in Scott City.
Puckett was a truck driver with Griffin Distributing of Sikeston, Mo. He was a member of Oran First Baptist Church, Morley Masonic Lodge 184 and Promenaires Square Dance Club of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua Puckett of Oran; two daughters, Alisha Lacy Puckett of Dexter, Mo., Leslie (Eric) Dahl of Las Vegas; his mother, Reba Hazel of Advance, Mo.; a brother, Roy Donald (Lucy) Puckett of Long Beach, Miss.; a sister, Ruth Ann (Donald) Freeman of Chaffee, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jordan and Hannah Lacy of Dexter, Mo., Taylor "Taterbug" Dahl of Las Vegas; 14 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Carter and Joe King officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Lix, Wade Freeman, John Bertrand, Cory Hahn, Joe Lowes and Jack Weston Pind.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Robinson, Larry Godfrey, Bill Stover and Richard Dippold.
