CLEVER, Mo. -- Gary David Leirer of Clever passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at the age of 64.
Gary was born Aug. 3, 1955, in St. Louis to Joan Marlene Maurer Couch Leirer and Winfred Devohn Leirer.
He graduated from Staples High School in Staples, Minnesota, and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He was married to Penny Suzanne Priest Leirer on Oct. 16, 1982, in Jackson. They had two daughters during their 22 years of marriage, Amber and Samantha.
He is survived by many loving family members, daughter and son-in-law, Amber Leirer and John Hoffstetter of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha Leirer and M. Dustin Harris of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren, Coraline and Elias Hoffstetter of Kansas City, Missouri; parents, Joan and Winfred Devohn Leirer of Rogersville, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Lynn Willits Leirer of Rockford, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny, and sisters, Donna, Jennifer and Tammy Leirer.
A memorial service for family and friends will be planned and scheduled after the pandemic has ended.
