ROLLA — Gary L. Graviett, 74, of Rolla passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, a son of Leon and Patsy Shy Graviett.
Gary was a gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam, and he later continued with the Marine Corps as an instructor and recruiter. After his military service, Gary worked as a printer at the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.
On Jan. 25, 1986, Gary was united in marriage to Mary Alice Spurgeon. She preceded him in death May 20, 2017.
Survivors include children, Melissa Randol of Benton, Michelle (the late Melody) Graviett of Eldon, Micah Graviett of Moberly, Andrew Graviett of Twentynine Palms, California, and Isabella Graviett of Rolla; four stepchildren, Jennifer Perry of Overland Park, Kansas, Steve (April Wiley) Perry of Lawrence, Kansas, Tim Perry of Brooklyn, New York, and Jeff Perry of Lawrence; four siblings, Mike Graviett of Beloit, Kansas, Roger Graviett of Oran, Denny (Debbie) Graviett of Chaffee and Carla (George) Trankler of Chaffee; and 17 grandchildren.
