TAMMS, Ill. -- Gary N. Dunning, 64, of Dukedom, Tenn., formerly of Tamms, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, Tenn.
He was born March 5, 1945, in Cairo, Ill., son of Walter Milford and Georgia Coleman Dunning. He and Svetiana Y. Leverett were married Oct. 18, 2006.
Dunning was an engineer with Canadian-National Railroad 32 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tamms and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Union. He had lived in the Dukedom area 20 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott (Kathy) Dunning of Wickliffe, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Polina Morozova of Little Rock, Ark.; a stepson, Yurly Morozova of Little Rock; a brother, Walter (Mildred) Dunning of Union City, Tenn.; a sister, Karen E. (David) Brown of Tamms; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Pete Vinson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
