ADVANCE, MO. — Gale J. Gaither, 79, of Advance passed away Aug. 28, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 22, 1937, at Zalma, Missouri, the son of Alva and Lela Barks Gaither.
Gale had been a member of Advance First Church. He was a retired truck driver for Aluminum Industries in Manchester, Missouri.
Gale and Dova “Gean” Shirrell were united in marriage April 26, 1958, at McGee, Missouri, and she survives of the home.
Survivors include his wife, Gean Gaither of the home; a son, Bradley Gale (Tracy) Gaither of Painton, Missouri; a daughter, Cheryl Dawn (Douglas) Gabel of Rockledge, Florida; a brother, Don Gaither of Warrington, Missouri; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Gale Gaither; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.
