Gailene Statler

Janice Gailene Statler, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Jacob Glenn and Freeda Irene Tidwell Statler.

She was a 1972 graduate of Chaffee (Missouri) High School.

Gailene worked for Thorngate in Chaffee from 1972 to 1996 and then for Thorngate in Cape Girardeau. She worked for the Cape Girardeau School District from 1999 t0 2002. Later, she worked at Kid's Korner at Cape First and retired in 2018.

She was a member of Cape First.

Survivors include several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Cape First.
