Gabriel Matthew "Gabe" Koehler, 20, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in a fire at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1982, in Cape Girardeau, son of Kenneth H. and Carolyn W. Sturm Koehler. Koehler lived in Jackson all his life and formerly worked at Jackson Skate Center. Gabriel Matthew "Gabe" Koehler, 20, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in a fire at his home.

He was born Oct. 21, 1982, in Cape Girardeau, son of Kenneth H. and Carolyn W. Sturm Koehler.

Koehler lived in Jackson all his life and formerly worked at Jackson Skate Center. He was a 2002 graduate of Jackson High School, where he participated in football, wrestling, track, band, and mixed chorus. He was employed at K's Merchandise in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his parents of Jackson; five brothers, Stephen Boaz of Benton, Mo., Kenny Ray Koehler and Jason and Michael Towell, all of Jackson, Adam Koehler of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Kelly Sutton of Perryville, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Dora Koehler of Jackson; and maternal grandmother, Connie Sturm of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by both grandfathers.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 9 p.m. today.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Russell Heights Cemetery. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate.
