Frieda Florence Engler, 89, of Oak Ridge, Mo., died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Patton, Mo., to Simon Jesse and Stella Frances Tinnin Shrum. Frieda and Deck Bennett "Ben" Engler were married June 12, 1942. He died Sept. 1, 1990.
Frieda was a cook for several area restaurants. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
She is survived by a son, Tom (Wanda) Engler of Oak Ridge; a daughter, Vickie (Keith) Dreyer of Frohna, Mo.; two brothers, Bill (Bessie) Shrum of St. Louis, Mac (Juanita) Pogue of Marble Hill, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, LaNora Shrum of Cape Girardeau and Virginia Jones of Jackson; four grandsons, Michael (Terri) Ruehling, Kirt (Jennifer) Ruehling, Duran (Ashley) Engler, Kody Engler; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge or to Crown Hospice.
