SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Fredrick "Frog" Ellis of Sikeston will be at 1 p.m. today at Freewill Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Roosevelt Weakley will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from noon until time of service.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ellis, 45, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1956, in Dundee, Miss., son of James and Viola Dotson Ellis.

Ellis had lived in Missouri for 30 years and attended Sikeston Public Schools.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include two sons, Frederick Ellis Jr. and Chris Ellis of Sikeston; three brothers, Ulyses Neal, Robert Ellis and Willie Ellis, all of Sikeston; eight sisters, Luberta Lott, Dorothy Moon, Penny Simmons, Ruby Mosby and Callie Weakley, all of Sikeston, Mattie Harris and Mary Edwards of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Richardson of Chicago; and a grandchild.
