UNIONTOWN -- Frederick J. Meyer, 68, of Uniontown died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
He was born Jan. 4, 1930, at Uniontown, son of John and Bridgett Erzfeld Meyer. He and Dorothy L. Bohnert were married Oct. 18, 1958.
Meyer was a farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek and its Men's Club, Western Catholic Union, and American Legion Post 133.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Richard Meyer of Perryville, John, David and Kevin Meyer, all of Frohna; two daughters, Tammy Schaaf of Perryville, Kathy Mangels of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Bernard Meyer of Perryville, Clarence Meyer of Uniontown; four sisters, Marie Clements of Biehle, Helen Giesler of Ozora, Bertha Seyer of Oak Ridge, Antonia Ponder of Perryville; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and an infant sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday from 6:30-9:15 a.m. The wake will be Monday at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Terry Borgerding will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
