BERNIE -- Fred L. "Freddie" Tanner Jr., 50, of Bernie died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
He was born Feb. 2, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, son of Fred L. and Mary E. Collier Tanner Sr. He and Sandra E. Sawyer were married May 8, 1971.
Tanner was an agriculture businessman, and member of the Christian Church. He served in the military during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Zachary Tanner Sr. of Bernie; a daughter, Roxanne Tanner of Bernie; a brother, Christopher Tanner of Bernie; two sisters, Frances Herrin of Mission Viejo, Calif., Mary Cannon of Long Beach, Calif.; and a grandson.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at the chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Revs. Ronald Collier and Ray Woodby will officiate. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
