CHARLESTON -- Freda Mae Bickford, 76, of Charleston died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Biggers, Ark., to Wally and Marble Payne Pemberton. On July 14, 1944, she married William Clinton Bickford, who preceded her in death May 21, 1979.
Bickford lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston.
Survivors include three sons, Dewey "Sonny" Bickford of Bertrand, Charles Edward Bickford of Lexington, Tenn., and Brian Bickford of Charleston; 10 daughters, Rosey Lee McConkey and Mary Jo Parker of Bertrand, Lola Mae McCollom of Sikeston, Lucille Girmine and Jane Ragland of Louisville, Ky., Barbara Brown of Charleston, Janet Rae Sparkman of Lee, Fla., Brenda Kay Simmons of Salt Lake City, Maragret Banks of Datto, Ark., and Patricia Chambers of Paducah, Ky.; two brothers, Freeman Pemberton of Charleston and Clifford Pemberton of San Antonio; a sister, Ruby Butler of Diehlstadt; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a grandson.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Gerald Penn officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
