BELKNAP, Ill. -- Fred Whitmire, 74, of Belknap died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Terrace Health Care Center in Paducah, Ky.
Whitmire was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Dahlonega, Ga., son of Frank and Mae Free Whitmire.
He was a self-employed timber cutter.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Jolly of Eddyville, Ill., Anna May Heal of Kevil, Ky., and Jackie Tucker of Paducah; two sisters, Ann Parsley of Morrow, Ga., and Ernistine Heard of Georgia; a brother, Graham Whitmire of Belknap; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak, Ill., with the Rev. Flo Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Belknap.
Friends mall call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
