MALDEN -- Fred Guffey, 91, of Malden died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1904, at Shirley, Ark., to John Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Fortner Guffey. MALDEN -- Fred Guffey, 91, of Malden died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1904, at Shirley, Ark., to John Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Fortner Guffey. He married Lorene Barnes Nov. 14, 1942.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden and was active in the Boy Scouts. He was employed as a salesmen.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Teddy T. Guffy of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation begins today at 4 p.m.at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charley Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
