BELL CITY -- Funeral service for Fred A. Green Sr. of Bell City will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Otis Littles will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Green, 80, died Monday, June 17, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 3, 1915, at Bell City, son of Charles and Ida Mae Anderson Green. He and Allie B. Brinkman were married Oct. 9, 1948, at Delta.
Green had been a maintenance worker at Lowe's Southern Clay Co. near Bloomfield, and attended the General Baptist Church at Bell City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Fred Jr., Charles, Gary and Paul Green, all of Bell City; two daughters, Karen Williams of Scott City, Betty Bell of Bell City; 17 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.
