SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Fred Joseph "Fritz" Bles, 86, of Scott City died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 1, 1915, at Commerce, Mo., son of Ambrose and Mary Theresa Hess Bles. He and the late Llolav Summers were married July 16, 1960, at Sikeston, Mo. She died Jan 16, 1995.
Bles was a blaster for West Lake Quarry. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 6407 in Scott City.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary Helen Vetter of Commerce; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Oliver Clavin will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
