He was born April 29, 1911, at Egypt Mills, son of Nicholas and Rosie Fornkohl Koeppel. He married Marie Rehkopf April 29, 1935, at Jackson. She survives. JACKSON -- Fred A. "Jim" Koeppel of Jackson died at his home Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997. He was 86.

He was born April 29, 1911, at Egypt Mills, son of Nicholas and Rosie Fornkohl Koeppel. He married Marie Rehkopf April 29, 1935, at Jackson. She survives.

He worked until retirement as a farmer and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Fred William Koeppel of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson today from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 until service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
