ST. LOUIS Franklin David Pierce, 86, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Dec. 19, 1992, at his residence in St. Louis.
He was a self-employed painter, and a member of Painters Local 1199. He had lived in St. Louis for the past 25 years.
He was born Feb. 20, 1906 in Hollywood, Mo., the son of Marion and Effie Trout Pierce.
He married Venida Ford on Feb. 6, 1933, in Cape Girardeau. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Pierce of New Baden, Ill., and David Pierce of St. Louis; two daughters, Jo Ell Jordon of Perryville and Carol Kayser of St. Louis; four sisters, Nellie Boren of Jonesboro, Ill., Minnie Sanders and Lucille Seabaugh, both of Cape Girardeau, and Mary Hayden of Belleville, Ill; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating.
Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
