Funeral for Frank Ward of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Elder Alton Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Ward, 81, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Henderson, Tenn., son of John L. and Florence Moore Ward. He and Annie Lee Henry were married March 3, 1947, at Bell City, Mo. She died March 15, 1976.

Ward retired from Westlake Quarry in 1984. He was a member of South Congregation of Cape Girardeau Kingdom Hall.

He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II, from July 1942 to November 1945.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Ward of Kansas City, Kan., Frank Ward Jr. of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Gloria Hall of St. Louis, Gladys Mosley and Gwendolyn Ward of Cape Girardeau, Jacqueline Ward of Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Ward of Haywood City, Mo., Walter Ward of Akron, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
