OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Funeral for Franklin "Frank" Vaughn of Olive Branch will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. The Rev. Carl Hester will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. today. Masonic service will be at 6:30.
Vaughn, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 22, 1927, at Thebes, son of William Franklin and Eula Schlamer Vaughn. He and Dorothy Deweese were married Sept. 6, 1947.
Vaughn and his sons co-founded Vaughn's Sales and Service in 1968. He served on the board of the original Alexander County Public Water System.
He was a member of Mounds VFW, Cairo Masonic Lodge 237, Cairo Elks Lodge, Scottish Rite, Kim Shrine, and Ainad Shrine Temple. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry, Larry and Stan Vaughn of Olive Branch; a daughter, Patricia Sebens of Dongola; two brothers, William Vaughn of McClure and David Vaughn of Bellflower.
Also surviving are six sisters, Genevieve Thomas and Barbara Willoughby of Miller City, Nora Thompson and Sue Biggar of Plano, Texas, Mary Lingle of Thebes, Fay Kowitz of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
