SCOTT CITY -- Funeral mass for Frank Short of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Wissman will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today.
Short, 86, died Sunday, March 10, 1996, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1909, at French Village, son of Peter and Ida Mary AuBuchon Short. He and Verna Mae Rogers were married Nov. 16, 1938, at Imperial. She died Nov. 19, 1974.
Short moved here 33 years ago from Bonne Terre. He was a warehouseman at Wetterau in Scott City. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, its Men's Club, charter member of St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Council 6420, and member of Teamsters Union.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond Short of Batesville, Ark., Mark Short of Jackson, Michael Short of Scott City, Robert Short of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Marie Short of Scott City, Sue Sappington of Jackson; a sister, Ruth Cosgrove of Great Falls, Mont., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
