Frank Porter

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Frank C. Porter, 73, of Advance passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 24, 1936, at Gipsy, Mo., son of Allen and Jessie Gilliland Porter. He and Pearline White Meador were married Oct. 3, 1977, at the home of the Rev. James Johns in Greenbrier, Mo.

Frank was retired. He was a member of Berrong Church in Gipsy. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Brenda Mitchell of Harrisburg, Ill., Charlotte Meador of Cape Girardeau, Cynthia Gould of Adams, Tenn., Candy Meador-Fox of Overland Park, Kan.; four sisters, Minnie Whitner of St. Charles, Mo., Dora Holt of Zalma, Mo., Nora Strickland and Dorothy Myers of Gipsy.

Also eight grandchildren, David and Lyle Tropf, Nicole Schrader, James Wilton, Alaina and Ashlen Gould, Garrett and Greysen Fox; six great-grandchildren, Clayton and Evan Schrader, Taylor, Kelsey, Abby and Olivia Whitehead.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Berrong Church in Gipsy, with the Revs. Frank Hinkle and Eldo Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery.
