ORAN -- Frank Vernon Orr, 76, of Oran died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at his home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Corona, Tenn., son of John Biffle and Myrtle Iva Osbon Orr.

Orr was retired from General Foods in Orlando, Fla., and had been a groundskeeper for the Boston Red Sox in Winter Haven, Fla.

He moved to Oran in 1940 from Wilson, Ark. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, and Morley VFW Post 5368. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

Survivors include a brother, Noel Orr of Oran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4:30 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Bennie Wilsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
