McCLURE, Ill. -- Frank John Marchildon, 85, of McClure, died Monday, July 11, 1994, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
He was born April 14, 1909, in Thebes, son of Holly and Emma Rozier Marchildon. He and Tressa Butcher were married July 4, 1935, in Cairo.
Marchildon was a 1928 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He lived in McClure 50 years, and had owned a general store 55 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of American Legion and Woodmen of the World. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joan Klockenkemper of Godfrey; two brothers, Polly Marchildon of Cairo, Holly Marchildon of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a sister, Virginia Long of Cairo; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, with KC rosary at 7:30.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jay Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau.
