Funeral service for Frank Woodrow Hicks of Cape Girardeau was held Tuesday at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville. The Rev. Kenny Lee officiated, with burial in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Hicks, 81, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1916, at Caruthersville, daughter of Robert Alonzo and Maggie Christian Hicks. He and Edna Olivia Diffey were married June 19, 1954, in Chicago.
Hicks retired as a security guard with Graco.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Frankie Hicks Jr. of Evans, Ga., Cletus Hicks of Lombard, Ill., Donald, Paul and Malcolm Hicks of Cape Girardeau, Thomas Hicks of Joliet, Ill.; four daughters, Dorothy Renfro of Buffalo, Texas, Eva Wallace of Amarillo, Texas, Deborah Stanwood of St. Charles, Ill., Gwendolyn Hicks of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Pauline Yount of Melrose Park, Ill.; 37 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
