SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Frank C. Ellis, 88, of Sedgewickville died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the family farm.

He was born Dec. 11, 1913, at Lithium, Mo., the son of Walter and Cora Conrad Ellis. He and Jewel Bollinger were married Oct. 2, 1937, and she survives.

Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Leona Ellis of Sedgewickville; one sister, Esther Michaud of St. Louis; one stepsister, Frances Statler of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; four grandchildren, Pam Walther and Greg, Bryan and Pat Ellis; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Tony Ellis, three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Ellis was an active member of the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church, where he served in the United Methodist District Offices and Conferences. He was past president of the Patton-Sedgewickville School Board, the Bollinger County Health Board, F.H.A. Loan Board, charter member of the Patton Lions Club, the board of directors for Black River Co-op for 32 years. He also served as state representative for 26 years and served on many committees.

Visitation will be Wednesday after 4 p.m. at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. James Brice and the Rev. Howard Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church or the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
