Francis Street

Francis E. "Bud" Street, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at 4:30 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Gir­ar­deau.

He was born July 11, 1915, in Commerce, Mo., to the late John Edward and Emma Isabel Reagan Street. He served in the U.S. Army during Word War II and was a salesman for Malone & Hyde. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sikeston for more than 50 years and was a member of LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Street belonged to Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM, Kingsway Chapter 144. He married Margery C. Woodside March 1, 1942, in Hernando, Miss., and she preceded him on Sept. 20, 2004.

He is survived by his son, Francis E. Street Jr., of St. Louis; a daughter, Claire Campbell of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Cantrell, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 4, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. There will be a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Dempster Memorial Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
